Health and safety is vital
As a vital mission for the church and a critical resource to the community, the Center implemented opened in compliance with the best practices in disease prevention.
The Center opened on May 18 with a rigorous program of cleaning and disinfecting during each day and evening, along with behavioral and program changes to add physical distancing and hygiene practices each day. Detailed information has been developed, and teachers have been trained, in the following four areas.
Check-In, Check-Out and Screening Procedures for staff and children
Hand Washing Procedures
Social Distancing and Physical Barriers (to Prevent Cross-Contamination)
Cleaning and Disinfecting by teachers during each day and by janitorial staff in the evenings.
Staff are wearing a mask or face shield, an apron, and wash hands frequently. They are checked-in just as the children are, with a temperature check and questions related to exposure or symptoms of COVID-19. Program changes include only 10 children per classroom, outdoor play scheduled for the same 10 children, and physical distancing in the classroom whenever possible.
