FAQ
How old must my child be to enroll?
We offer preschool programs for children ages 2-4 years old and after-school programs for elementary grades TK through 6th grade up to age 12.
What is the student-teacher ratio?
For best health and wellness practice, all of the age groups have a ratio of ten kids per one teacher (1:10). In the case that there are more than ten students, we simply split the group and use a separate classroom.
What kind of curriculum is used in the classes?
Our teachers develop the curriculum according to the children's interests, levels, and needs. The following learning domains are utilized in preparing the curriculum: number sense, early language/literacy, building independence & social emotional skills as it relates to the world around them. With activities rooted in STEM, art & creativity, sensory exploration, problem solving and dramatic play.
Do you have specific learning areas?
Many resources and defined learning areas are available to each class that include writing, art, library, blocks, science, dramatic play, and manipulatives. Activities are directed at each child’s level.
What religious instruction do you have?
Weekly chapel is offered at an age-appropriate level based on the teachings of Christ. In addition, prayer and gratitude is practiced before meals. Your family’s faith tradition, or no-tradition, will not exclude your child. All are welcome here at Morningside and we are proud of the diversity of our school family.
